Suncorp Super Netball: 10 Seasons On — Your Guide to the League and Displaying Your Memorabilia

2026 marked ten seasons of Suncorp Super Netball — a decade that's turned it into Australia's biggest women's sporting competition by attendance and broadcast reach. If you've got a signed netball, a match bib, or any other piece of memorabilia from the league, here's the story of how it got here, and how to actually display what you've collected.

A Decade of Suncorp Super Netball

Super Netball launched in 2017, replacing the trans-Tasman ANZ Championship as Australia's standalone premier netball competition. Backed by Suncorp as naming-rights sponsor, the league started with eight clubs and has kept that number ever since, even as individual franchises have come and gone — most notably the Collingwood Magpies, who were owned by the AFL club of the same name until the licence was handed to the newly formed Melbourne Mavericks in 2024.

Ten years in, the league's growth has been reflected in its scheduling as much as its ratings: the 2026 season was deliberately timed to wrap up before the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, and its Round 1 draw included a deliberate nod to history, with West Coast Fever hosting Sunshine Coast Lightning at Perth's RAC Arena — the same fixture that opened the league's very first season back in 2017.

Fun fact: The 2026 Grand Final was one of the most lopsided in league history — the Adelaide Thunderbirds beat the defending champion Melbourne Vixens 61–40, a 21-goal margin, after losing just a single match all season.

Displaying Your Super Netball Memorabilia

A signed netball or match bib is a genuinely personal piece of memorabilia — often signed courtside, and much harder to come by than a general replica jersey. Left in a drawer, it's just taking up space; left on an open shelf, it's collecting dust and losing its shine a little more every week. Sealed inside a proper case, it becomes something you actually look at — a piece of a Grand Final, a favourite player, or a season you followed start to finish, on display instead of packed away.

Our Acrylic Display Case is dust-proof and glue-free, built specifically to hold and protect a full-size netball (or similar round memorabilia) without it ever needing to be handled once it's in place.

Features

  • Crystal-clear, high-quality acrylic plates
  • Dust-proof, fully sealed design
  • No screws needed — easy assembly
  • Comes with a ball stand included
  • Approximate internal size: 30 × 30 × 32 cm
  • Suitable for netball, basketball, soccer, volleyball and similar memorabilia

More Than Just Netball?

If netball isn't the only thing in your collection — say a signed NBL or NBA basketball, an A-League soccer ball, or a volleyball from a rep season — the same case design comes built specifically for those too. It's the same dust-proof, glue-free build and ball stand, just sized and labelled for a different sport. One case per ball means your whole collection can look consistent on the same shelf.

Ten Seasons and Counting

Whether your memorabilia is from a Thunderbirds premiership, a Vixens title, or any of the eight clubs that make up the league today, it's worth protecting properly — dust and sunlight don't care how much a signed ball means to you, but a sealed acrylic case does the job for you.
