A Technic supercar has flat panels you can run a cloth over. A modular building has roofs and walls. A pirate ship has none of that. It has masts, rigging, ratlines, crow's nests and fabric sails — thin vertical elements with nothing solid behind them.
Dust lands on all of it. And there is no safe way to get it off.
Run a cloth up a mast and you snap the yardarm. Go at the rigging and you pull the whole string assembly loose. Use compressed air and the sails flap, the crow's nest pops, and something small disappears into the carpet. Fabric sails are the worst of the lot — they hold dust in the weave the way a curtain does, and they can't be wiped at all.
Which is why a pirate ship is the set that most justifies an enclosure. Not because it's fragile in your hands, but because cleaning it is the thing that breaks it.

Read the middle number first. Everyone checks length and height and forgets depth — then discovers the case won't sit on the shelf. A standard bookcase shelf is around 28 cm deep. Four of these cases clear that. Two don't. More on this below.
1. LEGO 10210 Imperial Flagship
The biggest of the six, and the one with the most rigging. Released in 2010 at 1,664 pieces, the Imperial Flagship is a proper three-master with a full rig, and it's been retired long enough that a built one is genuinely hard to replace.
At 80 cm long and 68 cm tall, this is the case that needs planning. It's too tall for most standard shelf gaps, so it usually ends up on a sideboard, a cabinet top, or a dedicated shelf built to height.
The upside is that at only 28 cm deep, it will sit on a standard bookcase shelf without overhanging — which is unusual for something this size.

2. LEGO 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay
The 2,545-piece LEGO Ideas set that turned the classic Black Seas Barracuda into a shipwreck island. It's the most-loved pirate set LEGO has made in decades, and the one most likely to be sitting built on a table somewhere with nowhere to go.
This is the depth trap. Barracuda Bay isn't a ship on a stand — it's an island, and it spreads. The case is 40 cm deep, the deepest of all six, and that will overhang a standard bookshelf by a good 12 cm.
Plan for a tabletop, a wide sideboard, or a deep cube shelf. Check the shelf before you buy the case, not after.

3. LEGO 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship
The newest of the six and the only one still on shelves — the LEGO Icons take on the Pirates of the Caribbean ship. [ADD PIECE COUNT]
At 70 cm tall it's the tallest case in the range, which tells you what kind of build it is: heavily masted, with the rigging carrying most of the visual weight. Exactly the profile that suffers most on an open shelf.
If you've just finished this one, get it enclosed before the first summer. The sails are fabric, and fabric never comes clean once dust is in the weave.

4. LEGO 70413 The Brick Bounty
A 745-piece ship from the 2015 return of the Pirates theme, and the one that sits in the sweet spot for most homes. It has the full pirate look — masts, sails, a proper hull — without needing a piece of furniture to itself.
At 55 × 25 × 50 cm the case clears a standard shelf depth easily, and 50 cm of height fits under most shelf gaps rather than demanding a cabinet top.

5. LEGO 31109 Creator 3-in-1 Pirate Ship
1,264 pieces, and the only set here with a decision attached: the 3-in-1 rebuilds into a pirate inn and a skull island as well as the ship.
That's worth thinking about before you case it. An enclosure is a commitment to one build — which is the point for most collectors, but if you're someone who rebuilds their 3-in-1 sets every year, this case is the one that'll sit empty half the time.
For everyone who built the ship and left it that way: 50 × 25 × 40 cm, the most shelf-friendly case of the six, and the cheapest after the Going Merry.

6. LEGO 75639 One Piece The Going Merry
The odd one out, and the reason this list isn't just a history lesson. The Going Merry comes from LEGO's One Piece range, and it brings a completely different audience — anime collectors rather than classic-Pirates collectors.
It's the smallest case of the six at 45 × 30 × 35 cm, and the cheapest. Note the depth though: at 30 cm it's slightly deeper than the Brick Bounty case despite being shorter overall, because the Merry is a wide, round-hulled ship rather than a narrow one.

Depth is what catches people out, so here's the short version. A standard bookcase shelf runs about 28 cm deep. A cube shelf unit is usually closer to 39 cm.

Does the case include the LEGO set?
No — we sell the display case only. LEGO sets are not included.
Can I get the ship in and out once it's cased?
Yes. The cases are glue-free, so they come apart the same way they went together if you ever need to move or rebuild the set.
Will a case protect fabric sails?
That's the main reason to use one. Dust settles on the outside of the case, where a cloth reaches it in seconds — instead of into the sail fabric and rigging, where it can't be removed without risking the build.
Do I need tools to assemble it?
